Electronic Engineering Department [cont’d]

Introduction

Electronic Engineering Department also specialized in another two tracks which are Telecommunication Electronics and Wireless Communication. Students taking the Telecommunication Electronic course in the Faculty of Electronic and Computer Engineering will be exposed to engineering fields in analog and digital communications, telecommunication switching system, electromagnetic waves, microwave systems and optical communications.

On the other hand, students taking the Wireless Communication are exposed to engineering fields in analog and digital communications, telecommunication switching system, electromagnetic waves, antenna & microwave propagation, wireless communication system, wireless data network, microwave engineering and RF circuit design. In addition, studies in electronics, circuit, signal analysis and engineering mathematics are also provided.

Besides the core subjects, students are taught communication skills, entrepreneurship skills, engineering management skills and self-development. Students are required to undergo industrial training during their third year of study for a minimum period of 10 weeks. The training will enhance the student’s technical knowledge and expose to the real working environment in the industry.

During the final year, the students are required to conduct a final year project, which is based on current industrial technologies. The programme aims to produce independent, competent and capable professionals workers who can blend into society easily.
